Elements Europe has been awarded a contract with Bowmer Kirkland to design, manufacture and deliver 131 Bathroom Pods for Premier Inn Slough.

Bowmer Kirkland and Elements Europe have collaborated together on 3 other Premier Inn Hotels: Wandsworth, Yeovil, and Croydon.

The bathrooms have been designed according to Premier Inn’s latest ID4 specification, a contemporary design which includes large landscape tiles with silver grout.

“We have a great deal of experience in delivering for Premier Inn so we are thrilled to have another opportunity to manufacture Bathroom Pods for Premier Inn Slough and to work with Bowmer Kirkland again” commented Kevin Arthur, Director at Elements Europe.

The Bathroom Pods will be manufactured in December with install commencing in January 2016.

The Pickstock Group Delivers Largest Student Accommodation Scheme to Date

The Pickstock Group has successfully delivered their largest student accommodation scheme to date.

The 779 bedroom site on King Edwards Quay in Colchester was once an unattractive development site which has now been transformed into the largest privately owned student accommodation scheme in Colchester.

Pickstock Construction undertook the role of main contractor on the two-phased scheme in November 2013, and now, almost two years on, the development is complete.

The Pickstock Group utilised its off-site building solutions business Elements Europe to manufacture, deliver and install all Room Modules. Seven different room types were manufactured in order to meet a range of student budgets.

In total, Elements Europe supplied 1049 modules to the scheme including student rooms, shared kitchen facilities, plant rooms, corridor cassettes and the roof structure.

Kate Pickstock, Development Surveyor at The Pickstock Group commented: “It is fantastic to see the scheme complete and is testament to our capabilities as a group.”

“With Elements Europe and Pickstock Construction working alongside each other, we can draw on our internal expertise in a concise and fluid manner which is reflected in the quality and efficiency of our works.”

Externally the development has been landscaped to offer an attractive outdoor space for students to enjoy next to the quay. Students can also benefit from a Co-op store, and a bar and restaurant will open shortly.

Underground parking is also an added feature to the accommodation which also has a bike store, launderette, student lounge, cinema room and laundry facilities.

Elements Europe Appointed to Manufacture and Construct Modular Class Room Block for School

Elements Europe has been appointed as the main contractor and off-site manufacturer for a new classroom block in Ilford.

St Aidan’s Primary Catholic Academy will see the demolition of one of their existing classroom blocks, allowing for the construction of 9 new classrooms, 2 offices and 2 WCs over a two-storey building.

The new class block will be made up of 36 of our Room Modules which will consist of classrooms, WCS, offices, stairwells and corridor cassettes. All of the classroom modules have been designed with adaptability in mind with a double door which will allow 2 classrooms to be converted into 1 if the need for a large space should arise.

“This is a great opportunity for Elements Europe to deliver a full turnkey solution for St Aidan’s Primary Catholic Academy” commented Ian Macdonald, Project Manager at Elements Europe.

“Modular construction allows us to deliver the project within a short build programme which helps to minimise disruption to the school during term time” added Macdonald.

The project should be fully complete by August 2016.

Triple Win in New Markets for Elements Europe

Elements Europe is leading the way in off-site building solutions. It has put its best foot forward into three new markets and has recently undergone two significant changes to the business which will help pave the way to its future goals.

Simon Underwood, former director at Mace has recently joined the company as Managing Director. This along with Elements Europe relocating to a manufacturing facility 266% larger than its previous facility has set the company in great stance.

In the last three months Elements Europe has entered into three new markets; education, retail and the private rented sector, complementing its existing strong position in the student accommodation, hotel, residential, healthcare and defence sectors.

“The entrance into three new markets is in line with our strategic plans to deliver a wide portfolio of products for the construction industry” commented Simon Underwood, Managing Director at Elements Europe.

Working alongside EC Harris LLP, Elements Europe has launched its building solutions for schools, having recently won a contract on a new school in Illford. This will be delivered as a full turnkey solution with the block of classrooms being manufactured in the Elements Europe’s factory.

Elements Europe has also just delivered its first retail module, which is the first in the country for Kings Barbers Club, located conveniently in a Sainsbury’s car park in Coventry. The retail module which is all encompassing and meets the demand for the service in convenient locations will hopefully be the first of many to be rolled out across the UK.

The third contract to be won will see Elements Europe manufacture and install 154 modules to a block of 136 private rented sector apartments. The habitable apartments of 28-31sqm and associated modules will be fully constructed in Elements Europe’s factory and delivered complete to site to be installed.

This win comes as appetite for the private rented sector increases in the UK, not to mention the focus in political manifestos on the shortage of housing in the UK being ramped up by industry press.

Kevin Arthur, Director at Elements Europe commented “Modern methods of brick and block simply wouldn’t cut it, off-site building solutions are a way to meet the government’s targets and Elements Europe has the ability, vision and credentials to deliver successfully to this sector.”
