A Win at Wokefield Park Hotel and Leisure Venue

Elements Europe has been contracted to deliver factory-built Room Modules for leading conference and events company, Principal Hayley, at De Vere’s historic Wokefield Park Hotel in Reading.

In November of last year, part of the hotel was devastated by a fire which saw the hotel lose 100 rooms. Fortunately the oldest part of the venue, an 18th-century mansion house was not damaged.

Elements Europe has been selected to work alongside Wates Construction, to deliver a new 95 bedroom section of the hotel to replace what was lost in the fire.

The 3-storey building will feature a mansard roof, something that Elements Europe has manufactured Room Modules for previously with ease on a number of projects. Elements Europe will also manufacture all corridor cassettes as well as a plant, linen, cleaning and IT room. Room Modules will be installed to the main contractor’s schedule of works.

Elements Europe’s procurement team will work closely with the hotel to ensure that the interior is of the hotel’s exacting standards and is an exact reflection of the aesthetics of their brand.

Principal Hayley needed an efficient construction programme to enable the hotel to be occupied at its full capacity again, they recognised that a modular solution would meet this need.

Kevin Arthur, Director for Elements Europe commented “We are delighted to be undertaking our first project with both Wates Construction and Principal Hayley, working with both parties in developing the prototype module has been a positive experience and we now look forward to delivering the building for the client.  Both parties have had a positive proactive approach supporting us into full manufacture”.

Manufacture has commenced on the Room Modules at Elements Europe’s manufacturing facility in Telford, Shropshire following sign off from Principal Hayley.

Student Room Module Install Completed in 4 weeks

Elements Europe has completed the install of 145 Room Modules for a student accommodation scheme in Coventry in just 4 weeks.

Manufacture of the Room Modules commenced at the start of the year whilst the main contractor Pickstock Construction started works on-site.

The install took just 4 weeks, a timescale that could only be achieved using an off-site method of construction.

Kevin Arthur, Director at Elements Europe commented “We are pleased to see the install of all modules complete at Sherbourne House. This has proved yet again that Elements Europe can deliver efficiently and to a very high standard.”

“We look forward to seeing the completion of the building by sister company Pickstock Construction in time for the September intake of students” added Arthur.

The new accommodation is an extension to Sherbourne House’s current student accommodation offering and is being executed as a turnkey solution by The Pickstock Group.

Academy’s Modular Building Well Underway

Following a successful install of modular classrooms at St Aidan’s Primary Catholic Academy in Ilford, Elements Europe is forging ahead to complete the envelope of the building.

The trussed roof has now been installed and the brickwork to the envelope of the building has commenced. Internally, M&E first fix is well underway.

The brand new modular school building is due to be completed by the end of July. During the school’s summer holidays Elements Europe will demolish the existing school building to make way for a new school playground and car park.

Neil Rivers, Site Manager at St Aidan’s Academy commented: “The classroom Modules were installed with ease, and with the roof now on we look forward to completing the entire site ready for the children’s return to school in September.”

The children at the academy are also getting involved in the spirit of the construction by holding a competition to design their dream playground.

Bathroom Pod Contract Awarded

Elements Europe has been awarded a contract with GMI Construction to design, manufacture and deliver 136  Bathroom Pods for Premier Inn Leeds. This will be the first project Elements Europe have undertaken with GMI Construction who are a long established construction business who have delivered projects in a range of sectors for blue-chip companies.

During the design process, the team at Elements Europe recognised that the Bathroom Pod dimensions needed to be adjusted to reflect the specific structure of the project.

“The Bathroom Pods have been designed according to the strict specifications of Premier Inn whilst making slight adjustments to reflect the bespoke building” commented Kevin Arthur Director at Elements Europe.

Elements Europe has a wealth of experience working with Premier Inn having delivered numerous projects for them nationwide supplying both Bathroom Pods and Room Modules.

The project will go into manufacture late April/early May in line with the contractor’s installation programme.
