Hammersmith Apart-Hotel Receive Delivery of First Room Module

The installation has commenced at Elements Europe’s Apart-Hotel project in Hammersmith, with the first of 89 Modules arriving on-site.

Elements Europe who is the main contractor has excavated and constructed a basement which included new piling and the laying of a raft foundation. The modules will now be installed onto the foundation with modules being stacked to 6 storeys by crane.

Elements Europe’s haulage team will deliver modules to the site to achieve the completion of 1 floor per week.

The room modules have the feel of a hotel room with workspace, a sleeping area and en-suite bathroom. DDA rooms have also been manufactured to provide accessible rooms.

Once all modules are installed, Elements Europe will complete the envelope of the building and all external works.

LSF for London Residential Developments

Elements Europe has designed, manufactured and delivered its Light Steel Frame (LSF) system to a London residential development.

Prime City Developments approached Elements Europe to supply Light Steel Frame in stick format to a development of 19 luxury apartments in Tyssen Street, North London.

The development has a concrete structure formed by the main contractor. Using the light steel frame sticks, the main contractor will form external non-structural wall panels around the perimeter of the building into the structural concrete frame.

Elements Europe’s design team worked closely with the developments architect to bring the design and engineering of the system to manufacture.

The system has been manufactured at Elements Europe’s dedicated manufacturing site in Telford, Shropshire where it has machines capable of manufacturing steel sticks to numerous sizes and gauges.

Aside to the non-structural panels offered on the two above developments, Elements Europe also provides a Light Steel Frame load bearing system which is lightweight, minimising foundation and load bearing structure design.

Mark Jowett Design Manager at Elements Europe commented “This is a great project to work on for Prime City Developments.”

“The LSF system has many great facets that are ideal for low and high rise accommodation. Listening to the market, LSF structures are something we will be doing a lot more of in the near future.” Added Jowett.
