Motel One, Edinburgh- Hotel Bathroom Pods

Client: Motel One

Architect: CDA

The Client

Elements Europe, worked in close collaboration with the main contractor, Ogilvie Construction, to successfully manufacture and install 129 Bathroom Pods for a new Motel One Hotel, in Edinburgh’s City Centre.

Project Description: 129 Hotel Bathroom Pods

The project saw Elements Europe manufacture and install 129 Bathroom Pods for the Motel One scheme, as well as 11 bespoke en-suite bathrooms in kit form.

The site’s heritage and prominent position on Princes Street in Edinburgh meant the existing facade had to be retained, resulting in the building’s footprint and internal room dimensions being fixed.  During the design stages it was recognised that Elements Europe’s standard 70mm cold formed Bathroom Pod walls would be too thick to provide the required bathroom dimensions.  Therefore a hot rolled 40mm section was fabricated to reduce wall thickness.

The Pods were manufactured to the exact design specification of the client, with Elements Europe’s design and quality standards being fully approved by Motel One.
