Description:
Build 140 bed Broomfield Grange and 64 bed Chelmsford Nursing Homes to provide serv- ices for elderly nursing care and for people with dementia.

Brief:
Elements Europe worked in partnership with sister company J.R. Pickstock to build two flagship luxury care homes for the European Care Home Group in Chelmsford, Essex. Keys to the 140 bed Broomfield Grange and 64 bed Chelmsford Nursing Homes were handed over on schedule when both buildings were officially opened by the Mayor of Essex. Both homes will provide services for elderly nursing care and for people with dementia. Use of the modular technology ensured the scheme was ready for opening on schedule in April 2009 Elements Europe used a combination of Strucpod and Strucmet solutions to build the homes. Meeting needs for fast track building of bathrooms and kitchens Strucpod optimises hybrid construction methods by providing fully load-bearing capability for buildings up to 6 storey high, avoiding the duplication of floors walls and ceilings and is ideal for the care home market. Strucmet is a fully integrated light steel frame building solution, providing highly engineered bespoke solutions offering efficiencies of cutting edge design, manufacture, assemble and installation techniques. The new facilities represent a significant investment for the European Care Home group. The homes have “state of the art” features together with innovations including a “Euro Cafe” (an Alzheimer’s cafe) for residents and their families
